"Mental Illness" of The Official: Lost Memories

Lately, watching the news on television, especially related to the official news on this beloved earth, often create a furrowed brow. How easily some officials say forget when examined at the trial.

Not long ago, a minister said forget when examined as a witness in court when dealing with cases of corruption. Then a few days later a large party chief also did not acknowledge what was said by the treasurer of the company and its involvement in a project that turned out to harm the state.

Unfortunately, actually displayed some evidence that obviously refer to their involvement in the process of current events they deny and say forget it.

Dementia was mentally ill
As a psychiatrist, I am familiar with patients who have dementia due to mental illness called 'dementia'. The most frequently come into my practice are patients with Alzheimer's dementia.
Dementia Alzheimer's is one type of dementia characterized by decreased significantly from the memory function (difficulty in learning new information and call the previously learned information) and one of the intellectual function (language disorder, impaired motor activity, difficulty in recognizing objects, impaired in executive functions like planning, organizing, and arranging pengabstrakkan action).
This situation is disturbing the function of the individual's personal and social. Although only one of the types of dementia, Alzheimer's highest incidence rate (more than 50 percent of cases of dementia is Alzheimer's dementia). Usually known as dementia or senile diseases suffered by patients aged 60 years and over, although for several reasons such as stroke, severe head trauma, and uncontrolled diabetes, patients may develop symptoms of dementia at an earlier age. Early symptoms most often experienced by patients with dementia is forgetting.

Dementia selective

Then what happens to officials who often forget the memory of this corruption-related events can be called dementia? It feels it requires further examination. Only, clearly, we see that what is experienced by these officials seem to only remember certain things (selective), not forgetting it all.
A patient who had dementia, especially Alzheimer's type, have the power of thought is increasingly declining. Patients often have even started to forget where his residence or place of residence was not his home today. Patients also can not forget the members of his family, even his own children.
If the look of age, then these officials certainly not one of those people above 60 years. Then, when viewed from the medical history, although certainly not been said publicly, it seems these officials have never experienced pain severe events such as severe head trauma, stroke bloody attack that makes a coma within a certain period, or poisoning substances that make the brain becomes damaged. This means that in passing with ordinary eyes, we see the officials are fine health.

"Malingering"

Then, if so, whether the said officials were still able to believe that he forgot? Obviously, this is the job of law enforcement officials to prove whether the truly forgotten or otherwise just pretend to forget. The process of examination and until the trial is expected later of course there is a process that is transparent, honest, fair, and pay attention to the facts that exist.

People can say a thousand times to forget, but if the facts say another, what he said could fall, or even can be called a lie.

Talk about a mental disorder that is often expressed by people who are affected by or involved legal cases, I so remember there is a soul of terminology in medical science called Malingering.

This is a "mental disorder pretend" when someone tried to present itself with symptoms of mental disorders in order to avoid legal process or court. Malingering is not a diagnosis of mental disorder, but it seems to many experienced by the thief. Regards Healthy Life.
